London Docks were the heart of the capital pumping goods and people to and from the Empire and the view of that stretch of the river leading up to Tower Bridge would have been familiar to all Londoners

more importantly kept it – even after six husbands – and had enjoyed substantial roles working with all the great names of the industry at the time and had her star on the Walk of Fame

This is a quirky little portrait of an even quirkier English entertainer

born in Rugby where he attended the Polytechnic so this is conceivably a view of the Canal at Coventry

He invited me to his studio in Spitalfields
