Among 236 registered patients with T2DM, whose glycemic hemoglobin higher than 6.5% within 3 months, screened at our outpatient clinic, 102 subjects met the following criteria were enrolled: (1) age between 20 and 65 years, (2) diagnosis of type 2 diabetes for more than one year, (3) body mass index (BMI) 18 kg/m2 and 30 kg/m2, (4) fasting triglyceride 150 mg/dl or fasting low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) 100 mg/dl and (5) willing to participate in and fill out questionnaires for this trial
